3D printing or Additive Manufacturing for batch production

Working with Incremental-AM after prototyping and into 3D Printing Production

If you are ordering through an online anonymous portal your will get results that change with the operator / printer and the consistency of your product could be lost.  Every MJF operator works to different internal rules and has different aims in the way they load the printers.  Some will aim for maximum throughput and some like Incremental-AM will aim for maximum quality. It is horses for courses!

The process is broadly similar to that which you have used for Prototyping.  The main difference will be in the quantity and timing specification.  In Production we have more flexibility to the timings of when parts are printed and finished.  This allows us to offer more competitive pricing that you may achieve through our web portal.  It also allows us the opportunity to review with you how you would like to achieve the results you are looking for.

As part of our production service we maintain a set of secure, print ready, version controlled files that are always oriented in the same manner and NEVER changed.  This allows us to re-produce the results you are looking for, time and again.  If you are ordering through an online anonymous portal your will get results that change with the operator and the consistency could be lost.

There are other benefits to working with Incremental-AM  as a Production partner.

  • If you are one short on a kit / batch build you do not need to call in the next drop we provide smaller runs at your normal per part production run costs. Giving you a predictable input cost.
  • Pricing maintained over an agreed period of time.
  • Digital Inventory services
  • Call off / Scheduled orders
  • Stock parts on the shelf ready to go at Incremental-AM, not sat on your shelves adding to inventory costs
  • Prototyping of new revisions at production prices.

Information Checklist for a production quotation:

  •  Print file (STEP ideally, STL (high Res) or 3MF)
  • Part Technical Drawing  (optional)
  • Production Priorities (A-Faces / fits / tolerances)
  • Finishes (Dye / polish / Paint / Cerakote etc...)
  • Quantity (Overall)
  • Quantity (Drop size)
  • Timings / Drop Frequency
  • Inspection criterion

While the above process is quite formal to ensure you get what you need, when you need it. We can also work with you to define the production run and offer a tailor made production schedule for your product.
